Piano lessons for 3 - 7 year olds

We provide structured and age-appropriate piano curricula for young children designed to give them a solid foundation in their knowledge and experience of music.  At the end of each stage of learning, the children may sit Montessori Music exams with the International School of Musicians  if desired.

Montessori Music Level 1: Piano Pals
Age 3 - 7 years

Introductory Piano lessons for children aged between 3-7 years old, using our Piano Pals curriculum. These lessons cover concepts such as keyboard geography, rhythm notation and pitch.

The children are taught to play familiar songs by rote and numbers. On successful completion of the curriculum, learners may be entered for Level 1 Montessori Music Exams if desired, or progress to Montessori Music Level 2: FunKey Piano.

Piano Pals can be take online if the child has the active support and participation of an adult throughout the class.

Pre-Prep Music Theory
Age 3 - 7 years

Music is a language and one cannot be said to fully literate unless one is able to both read and write in that language.  This is why we start even our youngest learners on music theory lessons that compliment our Montessori piano lessons. 

We use age-appropriate resources that helps children learn how to read and write rhythm symbols, draw notes on the staff,  label piano keys and so on.

On completion, students may sit Pre-Prep music theory exams if desired and/or commence the Prep music theory class.

Montessori Music Level 2: FunKey Piano
Age 4 - 7 years

FunKey Piano is a 60-minute piano musicianship class, aimed at 4 - 7 year olds, incorporating rhythm notation, aural training and basic music theory. On completing the curriculum, learners may be entered for Montessori Music Level 2 exams, if desired. FunKey Piano can be take online if the child has the active support and participation of an adult throughout the class.

Pre-Prep: Beginner Piano Class
Age 5 - 7

Aimed at 5- 7 year olds, the Beginner Piano group class offers a structured and graded introduction to playing the piano using western music notation. Students who complete the programme may be proceed to learn the syllabus for Pre-Prep piano exams if desired or progress to the Advanced Beginner (Prep / Step 1) piano class.
